What we need…
We require runners, aged between 18 and 45, capable of running for 90 minutes continuously.
What is involved…?
The study will involve three sessions, with only the sock changing between sessions. Each session will last around 2 hours. After a 20 minute acclimation period, you will complete a 10 minute warm up on the treadmill, gradually increasing the speed until you reach the selected speed for the 80 minute run. Once the running speed is reached, you will run for 80 minutes at the selected speed. The selected speed will be determined by ourselves, using running times provided by you to guide us.
A questionnaire assessing the comfort and feeling of the socks will be administered at 10 minute intervals throughout the run.
When/Where?
The study will take place in December and January 2022/2023, at the Sports Technology Institute (Michael Pearson East) based on Loughborough University campus.
